:mad: we need answers why did facebook our gold into cash

WTF!?!! Why did I buy your ***** gold before then?! I am demanding a money back..
If we all knew that you are gonna screw up us like that, we would've just bought facebook credit. I am seriously filing a complain against this.

Why The Hell Did You Have And Go do that For I spent almost 4 months collecting my 59 golds... i wanted to buy the synagogue... ffs now i can't buy it anymore.. please return it back to normal

BTW.crime city still has a bug if u guys got facebook credit, you can still convert 200 facebook credit into 200 crime city gold. LOL
and they were trying to decrease the value of facebook credit too, but they failed to modify that..

Same here. It said we had 10 days and then it just converted into cash...at minimum we should have gotten facebook credits..not gold. I actually had bought some..Bunch of f$#$# crooks.

I am waiting a day or so to comment on this, so I will not be as aggravated when I
do so. I'd likely say something mean if I posted now regarding this crap.
Besides, I am hoping we don't have all the info, and Mark will address this
topic and explain their intentions more thoroughly.
This is a hell of a thing to spring on us with explanatory posts.

This is absolutely ridiculous! I purchased the gold WITH facebook credits, and now that they are using facebook credits, they are going to turn my 106 gold bars into $1.5 Million dollars which are worthless in the game since that can be earned in about 10 minutes of playtime. I realize they are giving us a 10 day window with which to spend the gold before they get converted into the worthless money, but that is not the point! Everything I am seeing lately is leading me to believe that the developers are getting very greedy and trying to get as much money out of the players as possible. In the process of doing this, they are turning alot of people off from the game, myself included. I love the game and would even be happy to consider paying a reasonable monthly subscription for it if they offered such a thing. But, this was an absolutely silly move and I am not sure I want to keep playing. I paid $20 for facebook credits, which bought me about 115 gold, most of which I decided not to spend yet cause I have not found anything I want to buy yet. Now I am forced to spend it or lose it?

check your game screen, Gary. I am certain the game has already converted your gold into $. It did mine
automatically when I opted to wait and spend my gold later.
It has robbed everyone of their gold already.
I want mine refunded, $ is easy to get, gold either takes months or cash to obtain. I do NOT want the lousy 1.3 mil
it forced on me. I want my gold back to spend, since they are forcing us to spend it or lose it.

Nah, every time I log in to the game I still have the option to spend it or wait... Also, when out of energy and click add energy, in the upper corner there is the option to buy it with my gold. Not sure if the gold can still be spent in the store for weapons and buildings or not, probably can, for me at least... Regardless, this is a horrible move on the developers part, and I hope they rethink things and come to a reasonable compromise so as to make people who are disgruntled and would have quit the game happy. This is not a case of people being whiny and crying over nothing, this is most definitely a case of a very bad choice on the part of the game developers. I see no one yet who thinks this was a good idea in any way. It is not the changeover to face-book credits I am unhappy about. It is the way they have implemented it and thrown it suddenly in our faces. If they were planning something like this, it should have been announced at least a month in advance of any changes even being made to the game! This is of course all my opinion.

I'll be damned, you're right. I also have the option to still spend mine, yet it no longer
appears anywhere onscreen. This fooled me. The FB credit bar at 0 made me think
my gold was gone. Hmmm. Guess I don't need mine refunded after all.
However, this still sucks. I can't get what I was saving for.

M0ofo0, have you checked "Store/special/Gold" it should show how much gold u got? Man..this is like most stupid idea ever in any game. And they came up with the worst ****ing solution that I ever heard. I bought 200 gold b4 too, now I just spent it on whatever b4 they convert this crap.

BTW, the price of buying energy are diff to everyone.. LOL it costs 17 to buy 1000 energy for some ppl, and 16 for others.

They have done things since I've played that make me rethink this game also.

First let me say I play this game because Mafia Wars is not about the regular player anymore, it's about the player with no life, and who has the bigger credit card. I left that game because I can be hit listed by a level 1 player over and over, and saw that people where beating me because they spent real money...

When I came to this game, I was like finally a fair game... Then they changed a car that you could buy with something like 4000 respect points to 7.5 mil, then I saw them put mystery crates, a few days after this new the advertising of buying armor, cars and weapons was slammed in your face when you log in. NOW, they made the change of gold bars, to face book points, which I am not sure if it's cheaper but it's not the fact... You're breaking a perfectly fine game, I will not play a game that give a huge advantage to players with real money, I spent 20 dollars on this game, because I was doing it so I could help the game, now it looks like you want more and more and more...

Also, you might want to rethink the gold to coin exchange, if players got together they could sue your company for false advertising. With the economy like it is, I am sure you know this....

When I bought my gold I spent it right off, but if I bought gold to buy a certain item, and now I can not buy that item, you are ripping me off... I bought a service, and want me service, think about, because I am sure some people spent more than 20 dollars...

Yes, I was doing it to support of this game too. Since it was very fun to me for the last 2 and half week.But now, this is really pissing me off. I regretted paying them 40$, I still had like 158 gold bar this morning, but now, I just used them because they are turning it into useless crime city money?.
Well, they freaking locate in IL, and I am going to file a complain to IL Internet commerce Regulation sevice if we don't hear a satisfied reply.

the value of 1.5mil $ is insanely low compared to 36 gold bars.
It takes many weeks, or months, for those of us who can only play a hour or so a day,
to get 36 gold. It takes me 2 damned minutes to get $1.5 mil. I get 10-15 mil $ every day just from PvP.
There needs to be a more fair value exchange.
Not only that, but many items can not even be bought with $, so items I wanted
have just been rendered unobtainable.
I understand the need for real $ to maintain a game's existence, I understand
encouraging paying to play. I do not understand forcing paying.

The unfortunate thing is that we have not heard a moderator reply. Nor have we any official announcement of this except for the message that slaps the player in the face when they open up the game. I hope the mods choose to reply and soon for that matter with some kind of a compromise. Otherwise, I will likely look for a different game to play.

and one thing that i actually find ironically comical is that when the announcement box comes up, it makes it seem like a great thing.. "Facebook credits are here!!!!!!!!" The game will always be free.

We haven't taken away anyone's Gold. You can still use your Gold in the store to purchase items for the next 10 days. Please visit the Store & click on the Special tab. You should see a tab called Gold where all the items are priced in Gold.

Julia, I am unsure if you officially represent the developers, or who you are. But I understand the game is free and will for now continue to be. The point is that Myself and many others have recently purchased gold, and many of us are not ready to spend it yet!!! In my case it is worse, because I HAD facebook credits which I used to purchase the gold, and now they are saying "thanks for spending money on our game, now you need to use up your gold before 10 days or else we turn it into useless game cash!" No thanks, I don't wish to spend it right this moment, I want to use it when I see fit and when I see something I want to use it on! I don't want the 1.8 Million that they are going to convert it to, because I already have over 5 Million in my account now which took very little effort to win, mostly through PVP. My issue is with the way this was approached. The devs assumed we would be ok with spending our gold right away or having it changed to game cash. Well, I for one am NOT!

Meh, I gave up and blew most of my gold. Decided this is just a game and I have better
things to get upset about. Screw it. If they start forcing pay to play i'll quit. Until it gets that
bad I'll enjoy it as long as I can.

Sounds close to Cam Newton's "Pay to play" scam...I'm not gonna pay a damn penny just to 'buy' some goodies to give me an edge in my fights. Well, either find a way to fix it or we'll take Fort Knox's gold!!!!!!

Why am i forced to spend my recently buy'd gold in 10 day's or get useless money that i can win in seconds i will report this to Paypal and want a refund of my money this is ridiculous and not announced so i don't accept this convert my gold into facebook credits or legal actions will be taken.
