How come when ever I need to battle someone, the rivals picked for me all have higher stats than me. Then there's always someone with a lot higher stats and higher levels than me attacking me. How come I can not find any one with lower stats or level, seems to be highly unfair.

u're not alone on this issue. many if not all faces this prob as the rival list is still facing some problems and the devs are working on it.

It's based on your level and the number of members in your mob. Leveling your stats is up to you. If you are lower than all of them then you haven't done something right. If you aren't spending gold you'll always be behind the gold people but everyone else you should be fairly even with or you did it wrong. By doing it wrong I mean you have a poor economy in your city and haven't properly upgraded your weapons and other gear. I see it all the time at my level. Read the thread about being tired of rolling noobs. It has a lot of useful info in it that could probably help you out.

I've had a similar problem for a couple weeks now. Same 22-25 people +/- 3 to 5 levels of mine cycling through my rival list. But recently I've noticed that there is usually a 1-2 hour window where I get crazy levels above me (never below) in my list. Same limitation on the people listed, but at least its variety. When the window closes, I'm back to the same group of 22-25. I sorta feel bad for the people I constantly hammer.

How hard can this be to fix? I'm starting to think that there aren't many people playing this game at the higher levels.

Same problem here for the last 7 lvl's don't think it has anything to do with amount of people playing as you can uninstall the game and your account stays active I'm reping my way to higher stats at the min but the game has become a massive grind from 50-57 also going to look into my same 20-25 opponents inventory a bit more because at first glance it looks like my stats should be alot higher then Thers , I know that they could of invested moor points into attack/def but all of them ? I doubt v much . And do we have any official post to clarify the match making system , you say it's based on lvl and mob members but my list is nearly always full of players with 50 - 100 more mob members then myself , far to much of a coincidence that some times it's full of people with exactly the same amount of mob more then me , don't you think?

You are levelling up to quick.

My advice - Build up your hood. Get a strong economy with plenty of income to buy equipment with.

Don't recommend fighting people though... It gives you too much XP and then you level up quicker. Rob instead. You can usually rob anyone who is 1k above you. Concentrate on Peoples laundromats... Gives a bit of £, plus only 1 or 2 XP. But you also get respect points that You can use to buy items with to improve your stats.

Guys, he did not ask to stop attacking from higher level/stat but asking to give him the chance to attack lower level/stat than him. Fortunately he did not know how to do that, but if he know how, he is the one who SHALL do that.
Such guy makes game worse.

Hi I had the same problem leveled up to quick made mistakes ect ect. I had over1k mafia members Ive now deleted them down to match my level eg level 66 330 members my rivals list looks more balanced and new names have appeared on it. What I am going to to do now is keep some requests so when i level up i can add 5 new members.

I think that's the best way to do it. You can only fight with a certain amount, but the people you fight seem to be determined by the overall amount of mafia you have. For those who leveled too fast, they have the mob members to put them at the max for their level, but they don't have the weapons to compete against the like-level peers.

I would say hold off on doing jobs for a while, just focus on collecting cash and choose a weapon you want to invest in. The key to this game is patience, sometimes you gotta take one step back to take two steps forward. Make a commitment to purchasing nothing but AKs for the next three days. Stick with that plan. You'll see your stats improve over that time and you'll be competitive again.

And another thing if you have a lot of respect points use these to purchase your weapons rather than cash as the points are much better.
Spend your cash on upgrading your defence buildings instead.
