Yet another M4 A1 thread, but please take a look.

I started this late last night and just now had time to put some finishing touches on it. Ok, I have been crunching some numbers and have come up with the following statistics:

If you are NOT an Agent or Goodfella:
    • You gain 3 energy per minute. So you can do the Boardwalk Shooting Game (BSG) for 135 EN every 45 minutes. At this ratio you can do the BSG a maximum of 32 times in a day.
    • You can do the Junkyard Hide Supplies (JHS) for 57 EN every 19 minutes. At this ratio you can do the JHS a maximum of 75 times in a day.*
If you are an Agent or Goodfella:
    • You gain 3.33 energy per minute. You can do the BSG every 41 minutes. At this ratio you can do the BSG a maximum of 35 times in a day.
    • You can do the Junkyard Hide Supplies (JHS) for 57 EN every 17 minutes. At this ratio you can do the JHS a maximum of 84 times in a day.*
To hit the BSG a maximum amount of hits in one sitting, you need 4,795 energy in the bank. If you put every skill point you get into energy, you wouldn’t be able to accomplish 4,800 energy until level 160. (Not recommended).

With my ratio of 1 in 5 hits at the BSG, I should get an average of 7 M4 A1’s in a day. Expending 675 EN and gaining 215 exp per gun.¹ Now, of course I don’t, sometimes more/less. Ok, so an average of 7 M4A1’s a day, that means a maximum of +140 attack and +154 defense.

With whocareswhatmynameis’ ratio of 1 in 7 hits at the BSG, you should get an average of 5 M4 A1’s in a day. Expending 913 EN and gaining 292 exp per gun. An average of 5 M4A1’s a day means a maximum of +100 attack and +110 defense.¹

I don't have a ratio for the Junkyard as of yet, maybe someone can fill this part in.

This is as far as I’m going to go with this, just wanted to share my findings. Please don’t hesitate to question my math, because I’m rubbish at it. What I’m wondering is if our energy could be better allocated somewhere else? If of course our goal is indeed maximum attack/defense per mafia member.

*JHS - I have not been able to loot from JHS since I was level 75, im guessing. (Level 83 at the time of this post.)
¹ = Thank you to whocareswhatmynameis for this data!

I don't think energy can be better spent than farming, but that's just my opinion. My goal isn't max atk/def per member, my goal is max atk def in total - the per member ratio is just a way to keep track of how strong my high is and how weak my low is.

What other jobs could you do that will result in a similar weapon/reward? I don't know of any. What I do know is I'm in it for the long haul - and it's a long-ass haul - so I'm gonna keep doing them.

I think 1:5 in BSG is the best ratio you could have these days. Normally one get 4-5/day in BSG.

It's also about 4-5 M4A1/ day in JHS if you invest all your energies to that place.

P/S: I don't know why I still getting M4A1 from those 2 places, many people complain that they get nothing these days.

Exactly, I don't get it from the JHS anymore. That's why I don't have a ratio for it. I have hit it so many times with no loot result that I have given up.

If so, you better advice people not to loot Junkyard anymore. It's better than give them some info that's not true to them.

here we go again... yet ANOTHER M4A1 thread~ but hey, it's one powerful weapon and it's free! so, i don't blame you for starting a thread.

anyways, let me help you by providing empirical data. i conducted an experiment a couple of weeks ago looking at drop rate at boardwalk (also tried junkyard but quickly realized that the drop rate was really, really terrible). so let me share with you my finding:

since nov 19 (18 days observation), i have collected 97 M4A1s. that's 5.4 per day. but this is clearly not the best measurement because there are times i forget to login to play and of course i have to sleep (my energy bar fills every 5 hours). so i have used 3 other metrics to evaluate drop rate- mission, experience and energy.

    1. mission: i've done 656 missions to get 97, equals 1 drop per 6.8 missions.

    2. experience: 6.8 * 43 = 292, which means you will have gained 292 experience by the time you get 1 M4A1.

    3. energy: 6.8 * 135 = 913. here the interpretation is you will expend 913 energy to obtain a single M4A1.

all three can be applied when comparing drop rates between different players with different playing styles... the same cannot be said of drop per day.

also, for comparison between players hitting the same area (e.g. boardwalk), metric #1 (mission) is sufficient. but, if you want to make comparison between boardwalk and junkyard to find which has the most efficient drop rate, i would go with #2 and #3.

    hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for your input, this really does help. If my brain didn't hurt so much already, I would plug that data in now Simple equations I know, I just get burned out quick when it comes to math.

sure thing. if you want to compute drop rate for junkyard, the multipliers are 13 (experience) and 57 (energy).
