This is what I'm currently doing too. I started out saving all my respect coins and got up to like 90,000 or something like that. Originally I was saving for Exeleros and at the time I was like 50 levels away from unlocking them. Then I decided to abandon that strategy and dumped all my coins into chain whips. I'm now up to almost 300 of those.
For the last few weeks, I haven't had any trouble finding players around my level that I can beat. I get robbed from time to time, but I really don't care about that. I just have to collect on time and I'll be fine. I'm much more concerned with being able to beat other players in a fight.
Anyway, I'm nowhere near the top dog around my level, but I like to think I'm at least in the top 10%. Like I said, I don't have any trouble winning fights, so I'm thinking I'm just going to continue to save my respect coins (only been saving for a few days) until I get to a point where I really have to hunt for players that are weaker than me. If/when I get to that point I'll use up all my coins and either buy a bunch more chain whips or possibly Exeleros. And hopefully between now and then, new and better respect items will get introduced. I currently have 10,000 coins saved up, but I'm only on Thug Life 230, so I'll be able to save up probably another 70,000+ just by the time I get up to Thug Life 300. At that point, I'd have 80,000 coins and could buy 66 Exeleros, but hopefully by that time, better respect items will have been introduced.
Does anybody disagree with this strategy?
